Jean-Francois-Joseph was the most famous and successful member of this family of musicians from Paris. He studied and mastered the harp with Krumpholtz and was considered a virtuoso both in and out of France. Naderman composed a number of pieces for the harp including sonatas, concertos, etudes and solo pieces. He was technically brilliant as his compositions demonstrate but the music, otherwise, was considered to lack substance.
His studies for the harp are still important today and Naderman was considered one of the greatest harpists not only during his lifetime but in musical history as well. Though acclaim left his side for the patronage of Boscha, Naderman graced the presence of the Restored Court, where he served from 1815, and the Paris Conservatoire as a professor of the harp from the year 1825.
